Ready for A Roadtrip

Mom and I should be leaving for our Rosetta Stone trips in the next few weeks. I’m really looking forward to it. We are such goofballs. I’m looking at luggage right now because last year I had to lug around a duffle bag with no wheels, and I pack too much (my quilt, pillow and numerous books among the essentials).
I called off work today because I’m sick. I usually don’t get sick, but this is the second time this year! My head hurt so bad last night, and I saw lights flashing every time I closed my eyes. I actually almost cried. Pathetic, I know, but it was 2:30 in the morning. The good part is that I get to sit around drinking ginger ale with fresh lime, and my compassionate Energizer-Bunny of a brother Dippy happens to LOVE giving me back rubs.
I’m pretty sure he is the strangest child in this family.
On the sorta subject of ginger ale, you might laugh at the fact that this is a soda we get whenever we are sick, and therefore, until I was 16, I thought it was strictly for when we were ill. But one day we were in the grocery store and dad told me to pick out a soda for myself, and I looked longingly at the ginger ale, almost wishing I was sick so that I could get it. And then, lo and behold, it dawned on me that I was the biggest dork in the universe, that it was simply another regular soft drink, and not restricted to times of ailment. What was this? I could enjoy this in perfect health? Revolutionary, really. My world was turned upside down.
Once again, I’ve presented a most scattered post. But I leave you with this haiku that I saw on Facebook:
Haikus are easy,
But sometimes they don’t make sense,

My big sis and I
Love to converse in Haiku.
It’s just an odd fact.
