Crazy!

Today I cleaned and vacuumed my room for the first time in…..about a year. No, the vacuum did not break. Yes, I did it in less than 24 hours. When I proudly announced that, "This is the first time my room has been vacuumed in the last year!", what do you think my supportive family said?
Mom: "Gross!"
Ryann: "That’s not true. I vacuumed it a couple weeks ago."
Doggone her. I was conducting an experiment to see if unkept avacado green carpet would turn to a nice neutral shade after 12 months. Now I’ll never know, and I vacuumed for nothing.
Anyways, I think it is kind of sad that my siblings clean my room more often than I do. But things have changed. For the better. I suppose. You see, my dad has put me and Ryann on a new schedule. At the end of every day we have to draw a circle. Because I am a strange person and I can’t stand seeing my free hand, lumpy circle which resembles a haz-mat spill, I have started using a plate as a guide when I draw it out on the white board. It’s splendidly lovely. Oh yeah, back to the circle.
The first thing we do is split the circle in half. Each side represents 12 hours of our day. On the right side is our "free time" side. This breaks up into 8 hours of sleep and 4 hours of free time. If we decide that we need 10 hours of sleep, it gets sucked out of our free time.
On the left is the "productivity side". We are allowed 2 hours for meals and a shower. The other 10 hours must be filled with stuff like cleaning, working outside, doing school, running errands, going places, etc. As long as we are not sitting around doing nothing, it can be charted into the left side.
Common phrases in our house now fall along these lines: "How many hours do you have left to fill?" or "You better get to working, or you ain’t getting to bed until 1 AM!" or "Can I earn productivity hours by ironing my underwear?"
Below, you can click on the thumbnail to see a larger version of what a day might look like. I had to think hard of some normal things to put in, because mine can look a little funny sometimes. The segments on the left each represent 2 hours.
Doesn’t that look appetizing? It makes me hungry for pizza.

Hello Coie,
I just finished reading ll the posts on your front page. I don't believe that you really were experimenting on changing the color of your carpet… were you? If you were I might let you know that the more you vacuum it and use it, the more likely it is to change color! LOL
I hope you have a wonderful week!

If I took 2 hours for a shower and breakfast, I could appear productive, too 😉 hehe

Zat ees very eenteresting…
I would love to have 4 hours of free time AND 8 hours of sleep! Usually it's either or… and right now the sleep is losing out (stinkin' internet problems slowing me down).
I like pepperoni pizza with tons of veggies on it– bell pepper, purple onion, mushrooms… Mmmm…

college
Hey Coie! I love your blog. I am homeschooled too, but I really want to go to college when I graduate. What are your thoughts on college? Are you going?
