Thank you everybody for the birthday comments!  You really made my day!  And thanks to MOM, DAD, AUNTIE and KAITLIN for blogging about me.  My dad spent DAYS collecting all those pictures and I didn’t even know about it until the night before my birthday, because he asked how to post it on his blog.  Hardy har har.

Thanks to the DIXONS and BURGGRAFS for calling me too.  Sorry I wasn’t around to pick up the phone, Dixon’s.  Burggrafs, you sing wonderfully.  😀

My friends and family gave me some wonderful gifts that totally match me.  The Burggraf’s gave me some lovely homemade soap (Lavender Rose), the Dixon’s gave me some tea candles, lip gloss, and room spray, SHAIYA knit me a beautiful scarf, and gave me a teapot pincushion, Kait the Great Great Great gave me a book about handmade soap, and how to make it, my grandma Sharon gave me $40, the Suarezes gave me $30 worth of Starbucks cards and some grape and berry plants, and my aunt Erin (she’s a year older than me) and my Great-Grandpa gave me a totally awesome book.  It is about 500 pages chocked full of country wisdom and know-how.  It covers everything from raising all types of animals, building pole barns, chicken coops, bird feeders and other stuff, to recipes for just about anything you can think of, including porcupine, squirrel, oppossum, and raccoon, to gardening, to herbal remedies, to butchering livestock, and canning/preserving things.  I carry it around with me everywhere, like some giddy farm-girl.

My grammagwen and Kaitlin also sent me some hilarious e-cards.  Want to see them?

ALSO– two things here.

1) Are you a homeschool graduate or a parent of a homeschool graduate?  TOS Magazine wants to feature HS grads in every issue, but no one is signing up!!!!  So, if you would like to be featured (we need young ladies AND young men), then send over your picture and 50 words telling us what your plans are, thanking your parents, etc to COIE @ IGARASHI.US or JENIG @ THEHOMESCHOOLMAGAZINE.COM

2) If you read my blog you are hereby required to join the HSB Literary Society (actually, it is "club", but upon someone’s recommendation on my momsie’s blog, I am unofficially changing the name).  The first book we are reading is one of my favorites.  It is called Ishmael and you can order a wonderfully beautiful copy of it HERE…and while you are there, purchase the sequel, Self-Raised.  You will not regret getting these books.  It is nothing like the other books published by Lamplighter, except of course,The Hidden Hand, which is by the same lady.

And in case I don’t blog in the next few days, my sister RYANN is turning 13 on Monday, the 26th, so please wish her a happy birthday then!

Glad you had a super swell b-day, Coie! You definitely got some great gifts. The lavender soap sounds lovely and I could really use Starbucks right now…or I could be normal and just go to bed at a decent hour.
