Sewing Buddy

Ha. My sister is FUNNY. She is just jealous she doesn’t have a sewing buddy.
I’ve decided I will butcher a rooster or two on Monday, the day of my 18th birthday. Doesn’t that sound grand? I’ve never done it before and have only seen it done once when I was 10, so be sure to check the family blogs for pictures and details.

Well that would be something to see, Coie chasing a rooster and killing it. Now, just don't go out in flip flops…lol…
Ryann is a hoot.
I agree with Paulie in his comment on the post about your dance. We need another one SOONER!!
You and Paulie so are awesome…you make me so jealous….I wish I had cousins like all of yours!!

Oh my Coie – I won't discourage you but do you have any idea what you are getting yourself into? You are quite the young lady I will say that!
I am looking forward to the pictures.

EWWW!
I have killed and cleaned chickens. Not my fave job to do, I'll say, but it's also not a puke-inducing job. Have fun!

DO NOT READ THIS COMMENT IF YOU ARE EASILY GROSSED OUT!
Well, the one think you've got to know is that the animals brain may be complexly removed, but its body can take a while before it notices.
I've heard from someone I met, that when they were butchering a chicken, the headless rooster escaped and chased their friends daughter around the yard until they could catch it. Talk about a scarring experience.

Also, my own most memorable experience with un-dead animals was when a sheep that had been almost completely drained of all its blood and whose brain was long gone, stood up and started walking around. FREAKY!

Sorry if this all seems a little gory and graphic, but I'f you're living on a farm you have to get used to this kind of stuff.

Cheers,
