My Two Weeks Of Utmost Busy-ness

Ok, here is my detailed post on the
happenings of the last two weeks.  I've currently got a raging
headache, which may result in a slightly unenthusiastic post.
It's going to be long, though.

On Friday, the 9th, Kaitlin arrived in TN with her great aunt.  I
picked her up and we purchased a bunch of fireworks.  I guess
there is no law as far as age requirements for fireworks goes.
Cool, eh?  That night we didn't do much– just shot off the
fireworks and went to bed.

Saturday– We went to the Blogger Picnic for the Smoky Mountain Bloggers, and had a lot of fun.

Sunday we went up to Virginia and had homechurch at the Austin's house (Austin's blogs are: MRS. AUSTIN JOSHUA and JACOB
There's also Mr. Austin, Jessica, Julia, and Joy, but they haven't got
blogs).  That was pretty fun, only everyone was falling asleep
while my uncle taught.  Everyone being my family members.
Honestly, we shouldn't have eaten before starting (but boy can they
cook great– I had thirds!).  If it weren't for being asked to
read a ton of verses, the Austin's chickens going berzerk twice,
watching my dad try to stay awake, and my mom declaring we should pick
it up the following week, I think I would have zonked and fell off my
stool onto my cousin's head right then and there.

Monday Kaitlin and I went to Walmart and picked out the paint for my
room, as well as some corner shelves, bamboo, and other spiffy
stuff.  Kait was a great idea-er.  On our way home, when we
crossed the railroad tracks she made this cute “Choo-Choo” sorta sound
and I followed with the sound of a huge crash.  There was silence,
then I realized how awful that was, and we just started cracking up at
how differently we viewed the tracks.

When we got home we had a great fright.  My neighbor's truck was
in the driveway and our van was gone.  I, naturally, thought that
either 1) My parents were gone and our neighbor was inside even though
he was told to ask before coming over or 2) he killed my family, took
the van, and left the truck.  We walked inside and called out, but
all the lights were turned off and no one answered.  YIKES!
Then we walked to the basement, where I successfully tripped on all 4
dogs, and saw no sign of anyone.  As we started to head towards
the garden, we spotted Ryann and James walking towards the house and
you'd better believe we were relieved.  Turns out our neighbor
came over and brought his shotgun for everyone to shoot (that's why no
one was inside) and mom had run to the store with the van.  Kait,
Ryann and I hopped in our boat and rowed around for about 30 minutes
before coming inside, playing Pit and eventually going to bed at about
11:30.

Tuesday we had planned to go hiking but we were too tired from
yesterday and Kaitlin didn't feel so great.  It ended up being the
worst day ever.  Ever ever.  Dad wanted me to go to the store
to get some ice cream so I got in the car and turn it on.  All of
the sudden I hear BANG THWOMP THUD BANG MEOW CHTZZ MEOW BANG, in that
order.  My instant thought was that one of our woodpiles fell on
the kittens (these were my cousin's kittens actually).  But then
everyone starts screaming at me to turn off the car and pop the
hood.  I complied and then we found one nearly dead, and one badly
injured kitty.  Paulie pulled out the shotgun and Kaitlin and I
left before we saw anything else.

On our way to the store I decided to take a “shortcut” that I was told
about.  Turns out, you need to take something like a U-turn at one
point to get on the right road, which I didn't know about.  We
drove on some dark creepy road for about 20 minutes.  We even
found some big, beautiful, but significantly creepy plantation while at
it.  I finally turned around and got on the proper road.  I
wasn't feeing great and I think Kaitlin was under the suspicion that I
planned on killing her and leaving her out in the middle of nowhere
(there wasn't even cell service).

When we got to the store we found everything fine, but then the
register got all messed up on the people in front of us.  We
literally stood there for 5-10 minutes with 3 quarts of melting ice
cream before we got up there.  I tried to laugh, but I think it
sounded more like an iguana eating peanuts.  When we walked out of
the store I nonchalantly remarked, “Oh good, the car's still there.” to
which Kaitlin responded, “That's not even funny.”

The funny part was when the CD flipped on and the words playing were (Aaron Shust):

You've been more wonderful to me
Then I could have ever imagined
You've shown more love then I could show
In a thousand years

I needed that.  That and a good slap on the head.

Wednesday we drove up to the CUMBERLAND TUNNEL, and stopped at the visitor center for pictures of KAITLIN and I in STOCKS. Then went to Olive Garden (which went a lot smoother than LAST TIME).

Thursday we just sat around I think…I totally can't remember.

And Friday I dropped Kaitlin off with her great aunt to drive back to FL.  We had a lot of fun!

Saturday dad and I painted my room and put up the shelves and stuff.  Here are the before and after pictures:

In case you can't tell, the walls are very light green now.  πŸ™‚

Yesterday we had the Austins, Burgraafs, Williams, and Suarezes over
for homechurch and fellowship.  The boys all put their throwing
knives in a tree and told me to put my head between them for a
picture.  They got a kick out of that.

We also rowed the boat around for about 1 or 2 hours, played Pit, and
just hung out.  It's so nice to know families that you can relax
around.  πŸ™‚

Here are some more pictures from Kaitlin's trip–

I have just 2 things to say

#1 The Blogger Picnic was on Monday…..So what did you REALLY do on Saturday?

#2 You all played Pit after we left? I am seriously crushed here. Well, actually I bet you all planned that, seeing as how I am the Grand Champion of Pit and would have trounced you all very badly. I understand, you hate to lose.
